Who have you thanked lately?

I recently received a challenge from someone that I admire and trust asking me to take time each day for the next 30 days to call, write a note ( I think this means "snail mail"), e-mail, or text a different person each day and thank them for something they did or said, that has made a difference in my life.

12 Women In A Room

In the last week, I have gotten an e-mail quite a few times from friends and people that I don't know that well.  This e-mail is to share with me that they have put me on a list of 12 women that if we could all get in a room and work on a project - that the world would never be the same.  With these 12 women, anything could be accomplished.  These are 12 women that you trust, could and will get anything done.

What kind of woman are you?

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up.

Managing your time, so you live your dreams!

Recently someone shared this quote with me:

"Someday is after Never in the dictionary."

At first this seemed a little silly and then I really thought about it.  How many times do we say or hear others say, "I'll do that later...when I get time, Someday?"  Does it really ever happen?  Why do we make a comment like this?  Perhaps what we are talking about is  a 'nice to have' or we are interested but not really committed.

Fear or Excitement

Did you know that our bodies have the same physiological response to fear as it does to excitment?  We have learned to experience both emotions with totally different meanings, but inside our bodies are doing the same thing.  Only one causes us stress, frustration and unhappiness and the other one gives us joy, fun and possibility.
One causes us to want to stop in our tracks or pull inward.  The other gives us energy and we think we can do anything we set our minds to.  One makes us tired and the other gives us an unlimited store of energy.

When to speak up - When to be quiet

When to speak up - When to be quiet?  How many times have you kept quiet about something because you were afraid you might be wrong, might look silly, might be the center of attention, etc.  Only to learn that you were right and had some good and vaulable information that would have really helped.
How many times have you chosen to keep quiet about something that you thought wasn't right or someone wasn't being treated fairly?  Only to later find out that person had been harmed or taken advantage of in some way.  Perhaps you lost out on an opportunity because you kept quiet.

Giving & Receiving

Which is easier for you giving or receiving?  Are you giving so much that your well runs dry?  Or is receiving your thing?
What if we could make sure to keep this balanced and remind ourselves that they are both gifts?  Giving selflessly  is such a wonderful gift.  But, what if there was no one to receive that gift; the pleasure we receive from giving would be denied to us.  I am reminded often that receiving can be as much of a gift to both parties as giving is a gift to both parties.

What's my Intention?

I was recently in a conversation with someone and they asked me what my intentions were?  I was a little puzzled and asked what they meant by the question?  The message was that I clearly need to know what I want and intend to happen in a given situation or it won't happen.  (The odd thing is, even if the intentions aren't clear - that is exactly what we recieve.  What we actually intend, is what we are getting.
